Can Hawkins Echinata handle a lot of flow?

Most of what I've read seems to lean the Hawkins toward somewhat more moderate light and flow.

But I have a spot in mind where I'd really like to mount mine, that's only nine inches out in front of my MP10.

Anybody have one in a spot like that?

Mine gets blasted. Unfortunately it grows in a very tight form. IMO not as attractive as the thin branching out shapes like some pics I've seen here....

I agree about the moderate lighting but not necessarily the flow. Something has to be in the direct flow. Also keep in mind that vortechs reall are good about dissipating the flow in a broad way. So even though it may be close to a vortech doesn't necessarily mean that it is getting blasted.

mine is under high flow in what most in this forum would consider low lighting (8" below the surface directly under 150w 14k halide) and has been doing well from day one.

mine is in turbulent area and it's putting down base and growing taller at the same time, seems happy, started as 1/2" sling shot branch
