Can I cut the controller off my heater?

For heaters such as this one: Heater

Can I just cut the controller off, attach a male electrical adapter and connect it to my reefkeeper?

I know how to manage it the traditional way, I would just prefer not to have an extra unnecessary piece of equipment attached to the setup.

Provided that box doesn't change the voltage sent to the heater.... (which I don't see any reason it would) , I don't see a problem with it.

You might want to leave it, set a touch higher than the outlet on your Reefkeeper. Outlets "sticking" on is not unheard of (I have had it happen to two different PC4s) and that would provide you a backup "off" method... if the controller doesn't turn it off, the thermostat should.
