Can I glue a Shroom

I have a red mushroom that I have tried and tried and tried to get it to attach itself to rocks, and now pebbles. First I used a rubber band, but kept slipping out from that, then I placed him in a small cup with small pebbles of rock and placed into the tank for wel over a week, still has not attached itself to anything. Can I use some frag glue?

Superglue won't work because it will cause a mild chemical burn on the shroom. The shroom will then release a mucous to protect itself and pop right off the rock. Try using some wedding veil or netting, or sew it to the rock with needle and thread.

i superglued one of my rics .. no damage done to it.. it wasnt attaching either .. even thow most were

You can stick a tooth pick through the shroom and insert the toothpick in a hole in the rocks. In a week or so remove the toothpick and the shroom will be attached. I just did this a few weeks ago and was nervous about doing it but it worked out fine.

Does the toothpick thing really work? I've tried it many times with softies, but a snail always ends up knocking the toothpick out.

I had a ric come off a rock, and I decided there was no better time than to try proping it.. I cut it in half and tried to use some netting with rubber bands, but the shroom got out.. So I decided to try the needle and thread bit, which always works with my softies. The ric shrivled up and that was last I ever saw of it.

It worked for me at least. However I have only done it twice.

I just super glued two straggler shrooms with loc-tite gel glue and it worked fine.

I can agree wit travis in a way. I used super gel on to rics and they did not come loos but did release a gel type substance on the base. But is has not come loose. I do wonder if the gel released will keep it from expanding as I do not see the full expansion i did prior to glueing it.

I also use loc tite super glue gel - never had one come loose, but the do shed a little slime. never had one die from it.

What I did was net the the mushroom to a piece of LR rubble. You know the plastic netting you might get oranges or onions in. just net the whole rock with the bottom of the shroom resting on the rock. It doesnt have to be too tight just enough to keep the mushroom from floating away. In a weak or two it will attach itself nicely just be patient. See how nicely this one attached . One night it curled up like that ,weird huh! here is another shot with a baby that sprouted from a part of his foot. This method works great with ricordia also. Once attached to the rubble you can epoxy the shroom where ever you want!
