I am wanting to get me 2 4wd gobies and a yellow headed jawfish my tank is 55 gal with a 10 gal fuge and a 20 gal sump I have close to 80lbs of LR and my sand bed is only 1.5-2" which I am going to add more sand for the Jaw head in one section of the tank. I am just wondering If I can keep them together. Also are there any starfish or shrimp I can keep with them and are there any shrimp I should be cautious about getting? I am thinking about a cleaner shrimp and some pepermints

They are going to be quite territorial. I would make sure you set up potential burrow sites on opposite ends of the tank.

Most starfish would be okay with the fish, but they tend to poorly in aquariums in general usually dying within 18 months. Linkia Multiflora is your best bet for long term success - they stay relatively small and have good survival rates. Most other stars either require sponge in their diet (chocolate chip, red knob) or their diet is unknown (larger linkias). They all need an established tank with live rock and excellent water quality though I've found that the CC stars are able to tolerate moderate nitrate levels (40ppm) for short periods of time.

Jawfish like a burrow away from the main reef structure/rocks. They aren't always sure where the deepest sand area is even if you mark it "6 in. deep here". So if you dig a burrow for them & place lots of rubble in that open area of of the tank, they are more likely to figure out where to go. Before you get one read up as much info as you can find. They are only an easy fish once you've satsfird their needs.

If it was me, i wouldn't put starfish or brittle stars in a tank with a jawfish. As Monkey stated above- they don't live long & their diet requirements usually can't be met. Try a tuxedo or other pretty urchin maybe :)

I don't know what 4wd gobies are but jawfish are usually very good citezens.
