Can I mix sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate

Hey all,

I have bulk chems of both sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate. I just wanted to make sure it was cool if I mixed 2 cups of sodium carbonate and 1 sodium bicarbonate into a gallon of water to dose my tank.

My buddy said this would be fine but I wanted to double check before I used this. Should I be fine?

Hi I do a 70% bicarbonate and 30% carbonate mix and it's fine but I am thinking of moving over to a 100% mix of just carbonate.

I don't think all of that will dissolve. It's about 2¼ cups per gallon for the high pH (sodium carbonate) formula, and half that for the low pH (sodium bicarbonate) formula. I'd try about 1 cup sodium carbonate and ½ cup sodium bicarbonate.
