can u freshwater dip a Monti cap frag???

Ok. Just curious cus someone posted that they dipped their palythoa in freshwater and were worried they may have killed it. someone then mentioned that it was ok cus they did it to their zoa. So I was just wondering if u can with other corals that's all. Still a newbie that's why I ask =)

zoas and palys are know to get freshwater dips to get out nutibranches (sp.) as most corals can handle a short freshwater dip as long as temp and pH are the same some corals just get treated with other things to not anger them alot. but i agree the Interceptor and TropicMarinC dips are your best option for SPS corals.

also then again it is of course knowing what you want to get off the coral to begin with. which is why a QT is a good idea even for corals

Lugols is a good precautionary dip. Several companies make a decent dip. 20 min in a bucket for some. I wouldn't use freshwater on a stony coral.
