Can you get a clam to detach from rock??

Well I have 2 little Maxima clams that detached from thier "plugs" and attached themselves to my live rock. Is it possible to coax them to come off the rock???

Get a razor, cut as close to the rock as you can.

Its holding itself down on the rock tight and close. I don't think I can get under it.

try rocking it back and forth or move it to the other side of the tank

Chip the rock.

If I tried to chip the rock and it cracked under the "foot", would it hurt the clam?

It'll be fine. The foot is multi strand.
