Can your skimmer do this?

I just got my new Lifereef VS3-48 Skimmer for my 210 I am building. I have never seen a skimmer work this well!

It is currently running on a 100 gallon Rubbermaid sump full of "cured" live rock. I have had the rock since the middle of December curring with a 36" venturi skimmer. cant remember the name of it but it is decent. I setup my new lifereef and within 15
minutes this was what it was collecting?

Jeff is still making skimmers. I still say they are one of the top-of-the- line skimmers and for lass than half the price of some other "brands".

You might try raising the water level in the skimmer a little bit with a gate valve, it will help push the nasties up the cup better.

I have the skimmer dial in. The photo was at startup and didnt level out yet. So far I have collected about a half gallon of stinkey sludge. I have it collecting @ a happy medium of wet/dry foam.

I have a 3 foot and 5 foot lifereef skimmers, They are nice!!

I have mine working like a horse for 3 years now without thinking of any replacement at all. Great product...

I love mine - it's a 36" for my 100g. Came with a mazzei injector, what ever that is (I bought it used) If anyone knows what it's for, feel free to explain!

I wouldn't hesitate to plunk out the cash for a brand new one if this one got damaged or something

It's like that infomercial - set it and forget it

And it's really quiet, too

A mazzei injector is the Venturi device...it's what inducts the air into the pump to make the bubbles in the skimmer. It's supposed to be the best venturi out there.

Thanks Kirk - then I should definitely continue to include the mazzei when I brag about my skimmer

Why one would be better than another I have no idea -and I really can't tell much difference when I adjust it one way or the other - I pretty much keep it the air intake regulator nut thing screwed up all the way to be closed except it still lets in air in

Anyway I love this skimmer - I hate to buy a screen to hide it, but then it's not like anybody's going to come over & go "cool skimmer" My family considers it an eyesore in our media room - What's wrong with those people!!!!
