Candy cane recession

I got about 9 heads of great looking candy canes, the tentacles came out withing minutes in my tank, after a few weeks the skelton has slowly begun to show, and tentacles come out less and less. Any reason why? My calcium and KH seems fine, so I dont think I am lacking in those areas, what could it be?

The calcium was at about 430 and dkh was 13-14 both using salifert, my nitrates seem high at 10-15, but I am doing water changes and this is the only coral that is going through recession.

some feeding might help stop the flesh recession but i dont know what would cause it to recede so quickly

I have been feeding it, except it is now hard since it wont open.
