cant get my alkalinity to rise

I do not think the mushrooms care one way or the other if you add iodine. I've had mushrooms at pest proportions in reef aquaria with no supplemental iodine. :)
 
maybe im just trying to rush them?
ive had them for like 4 months, and they havent really spread yet
one mushroom rock got all shrivled and they turned white, theres one left that looks alot better. the rest i moved into my new 55 gallon and all of a sudden they came back to life....weird these mushrooms are lol

Just keep in mind most mushrooms are low light and will bleach if too much is provided. I noticed in some I have under rock ledges even the reflection from the Metal Halides from the aquarium panes may be too much.
