Can't remove sump from stand...problem or not?

Well, I want the largest sump that would fit in my stand, but the problem is that the only way I can fit it in is through the top of the stand. The problem then is that when the tank is filled and running I'll have no way to remove the sump. The stand has a large front door so I didn't think this would be a problem, but it is an inch to small.....

So should I go with a smaller sump so I can remove it if necessary or will this setup be fine????

Could you make a door in the side of the stand to pull it out when you want to clean it? I was able to put a 55 under my 125 by doing this.

Unfortunately no.....the stand is hardwood planks running vertically....so they are the cabinet and supports all in one.

It will be a problem if it ever leaks & you want/need the same size
If you could replace it with a smaller one if needed then you would be OK. But if you need every inch of that space, it will be a problem

Well, hopefully the sump will never have to be replaced, or if it does, it will have to be broken up with boltcutters. If it is all-acrylic, likely it won't. I have a corner tank, and it's about the same story. Just go ahead, and hope for the best.

I have had my sump under my stand for 2 years with no problems. It is made from a 20 gal glass tank. Can't remove it, no big deal.

I'm in the same situation... 15 g H sump next to 20g H refugium under my 90 g tank. The only way I could get the two into the stand was by dropping in the 15 H from the top. Now that the 90 g is on the stand, there's no way to take out the 15 g or 20 g without busting them up. It's nice to see I wasn't the only one to make this risky endeavor. Here's to hoping for no leaks!

Well, to complicate things I'm not sure if the floor inside the stand is perfectly level, so if I ever did have a leak and I couldn't remove the tank that would be a major issue. I was able to exchange the tank for a smaller one that I can remove, so thanks everyone for your input.
