Case fan/ controller wiring?

Is this wired correctly? Three wire case fan red, black, yellow (yellow is rpm sensor and is unused) three wire speed controller red, black, yellow 2 wire converter black, black+tracer So, 3 blacks together, controller red to blktracer, controller yellow to fan red, fan yellow is nothing? When wired like this the fan runs, but w/o control. Seems fan speed control wiring is below Directron's tech support abilities, and all tech support at Aptevia can say is "I need to use the proper four pin connectors".

if the fan and controller are both three wires, why are you using a 2 wire converter?

i think the controller needs the yellows together to sense rpm and determine fan speed. with out a connection, i think that the fan is going full speed

hmm ran this configuration for about four years, i had a salt water incident (not its first) the black pulled from the controller, and I have been running full speed with out it since winter. Anyway I'm looking to quiet this thing down maybe one of these will make my reefing happier by making my other's ears a little less annoyed:

hmmm....i think it says its 12V, 1.2 W, 0.1A.

a 1300mA (1.3A) power supply may give you some "extra" airflow :dance:

Think it will wire up as simple as + & - to + & -?

if you wire it like that, it should run just fine. it will just run at full speed.

at ~20 dB(A) and 65 cfm IDK if I'll use the ulna or lna adapters, I put a lot of heat in my small canopy
