Center Brace

I have a 65 gallon AGA Tank. It is only 36" wide. I would like to cut the center brace out, and wondering if I can do it. Anyone ever done this on a 65 gallon? I know the glass CAN bow on some wider tanks, but I just can't imagine it being a problem on a 36" wide.

Please tell me you stories.... the tank is already full and running.

haha, it's ok to do as long as you put something else there to support the weight. i did it to my bowfront. what i did was drain half the water, cut the brace off, replaced the brace with 1/4" acrylic, and nylong bolted it. just make sure to have the acyrlic as well as holes already cut because you are racing against time with the water. you can also do it with the tank full but i wouldn't... also when puttin the acrylic on, i pushed the tank in as much as i can so that way it'll hold it more stable.
