Is chaeto supposed to stink? I had some shipped and it took a week to get here. I looks and feels good, but it smells. Will it be safe to still put it in my tank?
The chaeto is probably still alive and well but other organisms attached to it might be dead. Rinse it well in clean saltwater before you put it in your tank to avoid introducing decomposing material.
