chances of finding mantis

Who here has found mantis shrinmps on thier LR? and what kind of LR was it? I'm going to TBS on thursday and iw ant to know my chances of getting oe in LR. ythanks

I bought 70lbs and I have 4 so far the last one I just caught after having the rock in the tank for 6 months

I have two... one from my 50lbs, one from a frag swap in Cleveland (off of TBS or GV I can't remember) and another coming in two weeks at a local swap. I think I'm going to design a three chamber acrylic mantis tank for them to live in. Tired of the 6g Eclipse.

Yes what hjappened to me was, i ordered one right before i went to the keys because i didnt think i would find one. turns out i found 3 there, and my LFS ddint get any! so the one that i got died becaue he/she got stuck trying to molt. now that im trying to get one, i will find a few in the LR that i will be uyuing and have no place to put them.

Is there a reason you want a three chamber tank?
I have all four of my Mantis in a 38 gallon Hexagon, they all get along fine and three of them have been together for 6 months in the same tank.
I also have a few small crabs and snails along with three Damsels that were supposed to be food but haven't been touched.

are yours smashers or spearers, lllosingit. If i find any hitchiking on my LR ill put them in my tank and hope they dont eat eachother. or maybe make another tank for the hitchikers.

They are all smashers
One is about 2 1/2" long and 2 are about 2" and one was about a 1/4" long and after 6 months it's about 3/4" long.

Hmm, i have a 20g. I'm going to put a 3" mantis in there from TBS. Then if i get any hitchikers ill put them in there with him and see if they like eachother
