Cheap Cooling Solution That Works

Be creative. This took me less than 5 minutes total!

4 zip ties to make a big long chain
1 Screw-Hook screwed into the stand

Easy peasy.

Nice! Reminds me of mission impossible for some reason.

Yeah my sump is a mess. I envy those people that have sumps that look all nice and clean.. But the important part is it's WAY more secure than it looks, that thing isn't going anywhere.

Lowered temp quite well, about 4* total.

I'm not a fan of a chiller because its super loud; would probably annoy everyone in the house if the chiller comes on while everyone is sleeping, watching TV, chatting, and so forth. Plus the chiller dumps heat into the house, which will probably end up back into the tank anyways. Having a quiet fan + top off seems like a good trade off for me.

I use the 120mm infinity fans from Amazon -- They are $15-ish, and put out more CFM than most of those fans like yours. A single one puts out more air than a 4-5 fan fixture. They also plug directly into a wall outlet, and can be daisy chained. Lastly, they're pretty quiet for such a strong little fan.

$15, 110cfm AC Infinity 120mm x 38mm deep fan blade, high speed fan <--- Link
That fan says it's for cooling muffins. Not Reef tanks! XD

Zip ties do not last that long. That is asking for a problem a couple years down the road.

I only put it on when I need it.. who would be stupid enough to leave something like that for years on a zip tie?

I would never assume you have learning disabilities, please don't assume I do.

There's not very nice dude. That type of response was not warranted by his comment at all.

I would never assume that. Not everyone knows that zip ties break down with age, uv and ozone exposure.
