Chemi clean...leave skimmer on or off?

Should I turn off my skimmer when dosing chemi clean??

Turn it off and try to run little or no carbon. My LFS told me to use the regular dose, 3 days in a row. I did it. Knocked out the cyno fast. Didn't affect anything else. Did a water change, skimmer back on, carbon back....cyno's gone and hasn't come back.

Is my skimmer going to go nuts when I turn it back on from it??

Mine didn't. Just time it so you're available to do a decent water change and suck most of the dead cyno out. I picked some of it out with grabbers. Time consuming, but it pays. It hasn't come back for me.

if you have a drain on your collection cup you can leave your skimmer running. just clean it good befor you dose and have the drain hose drain back into the sump or tank. this will help keep O2 levels up
