Cheney Lime Company - safe to use their Calcium Hydroxide?

I bought a bit of lime today and I'm wondering if anyone else is using it. I did read another thread from way back where someone bought a 50# bag at a feed store that was sold for water treatment systems... That's what this is too, from ACE hardware, $3.99

I don't believe anyone has done an analysis on that brand of lime. They will have paperwork on thier product if it is up to par for food usage. Here is a link that will explain the requirements:

I guess it is also worth mentioning that this is only Calcium Hydroxide, no magnesium compounds listed...

That one sounds like it meets the Water Chemicals Codex. That is less stringent than food grades of lime (as shown in the article), but is likely adequate.

Looking for an update here. Has anyone been using this or had problems with it?
