Chili pepper sponge

Picked up a beauty a few weeks ago to go with the bright gold one I have had for a year.

My question is why would the sponge be laying over. It is mounted on a small piece of rock and put into the sand. I have fed it once a week like all the other LPS.

All params are normal. Any suggestions other than propping it up?

Not familiar with a chili pepper sponge... is this a Chili Coral? Red, kind of spiney soft coral with yellow/white polyps? If thats what it is, it will help to have it in a spot with pretty high water flow and very regular feedings- daily ideally, as they are not photosynthetic. They also tend to inflate at night more than during the day too. If thats not what it is, and its actually a type of sponge.. then.. I dunno... lol

It is like a devil's finger softie, red in color. Polyps not extended like sweepers, more like a leather. Wish I could take a pic, but no camera.

LFS sold it as a cili pepper sponge.

Don't know why they call them a sponge, but I do know I am going to move it off the bottom, put it in higher flow and feed the he** out of him. Thanks for the response.
