Does a chip of glass out of the seem in the corner of a tank affect the integrity of the tank if it still holds water???

i know someone with a nasty chunk missing out of his 220 he just filled it with silicone and it has held for a couple years. do you see any bubbles in the silicone close to the chip?

It does affect the integrity, and there will be a greater chance of failure than an intact tank.

That said, I had 2 dime sized chips on the corner of my old 90. They were about 2/3 the depth of the glass. Never had a problem for years, even moving a couple times. I sold it it and AFAIK it is still fine, about 5 years later.
