Clam always lies om it's side

I have 2 croceas, one that is about 4.5" is always lying on it's side. It detached from it's rock the day after i got it 6 or 8 months ago, and won't attach to anything now or since, I've seen it's foot extend a couple times, but never attach to any rocks I've placed nearby.
i've propped it up and it keeps lying down on it's side every time.
It seems to be doing well otherwise, so I'm not sure what to do. It seems to be moving all the time, so I assume it's not happy, but the other crocea stays put and upright in the same area.
Any suggestions? It's hard to see when it is always on it's side and inevitably turns away from the front glass.
Thanks

I had this problem and my clam ended up dyeing...

All I would stronly suggest doing is leaving it alone.. Pleace a rock underneath it where the foot is, or near a rock and let it alone.... Don't touch it... Let it do what it's trying to accomplish...

On the other hand, you can try fitting it between two rocks that have enough room for it to open but to not tip over....:)

You have quite a bit of lighting if the clam in question is under the lights in your profile. It may actually be turning away from the extra light refraction off the front glass.

If it is growing and looks good, try moving it to an area of a bit less intensity and place it upright on a suitable rock.

Good luck.

i have a maxima that alway lies on its side. i tried for a long time to get it upright but it always goes back to its side. i guessthat is where it likes to be so i have just left it alone. it has been fine for 6 months like that.

Obviously if the clam keeps moving on it's side, it's either receiving too much light or isn't happy. Have you tried moving in under a place that has a shadow such as some rockwork.

Yep, I've tried moving into the shade, into the light, moving into current, out of current, everything.
Whoever said "Happy as a clam, never met this guy"

So had the clam settled in yet or is still turning itself on the side? Talk about being a "tough" one (I meant the clam of course). :D
