Clam and Tang

I just purchased a clam a week ago from clamsdirect and the clam is doing great except my purple tang wants to nip at him. When I purchased the clam I was told that my fish I had in the tank would not bother him. I have a six line wrasse and a royal gramma, and the original blue damsel from when I started my tank 2 years ago. I have a 90gal tank so it's not like theres no room. I had to build a clam cabana from eggcrate to keep him away. Anybody else have this problem? It looks stupid with a cage around my clam.

I have never had a problem with my purple tang picking on clams. Do you have any seaweed hung in the tank for the tang to nibble on?

My purple tang does not bother any of my clams. Each fish has it's own likes and dislikes (some people actually like Brussels sprouts)
