clam death

I had 3 clams 2 crocea 1 maxima.My maxima died and so did 1 crocea.Seems it was doing fine.Water is good.The clam started closing up the I saw a whole next to the foot.Day after clam was dead.Both clams died the same way.My third clam started closing up aswell.I moved it around but wasn't doing that great but it didn't have a hole either.I just got 2x AB 150 HQI pendants(20 k Bulb)My clam opened up fully again.I still have my 250 10k mogul light.I am not using my 2x 65 watt pc light.I was wondering if my 250 and pc lighting wasn't strong enough and thats why the clams died.It just took longer to die.My 250 bulb is new and I used actinics on my pc lights.My clams lived for 4 to 6 months.I was feeding phyto every other day so i don't think I didn't feed them enough.

what fish do you have in your tank? and tell me when you bought every clam, and when this problem started.

Thanks could not understand why clam would die.I have a healthy tank.Doesn't make sense I did everything I was supposed to do.

What are the sizes of the clams?

They were 4 inches so they were not babies that I had to bowl feed.
