My new crocea clam recently expelled some type of organ. It had hairlike strands on it with brown tips. It came out of the side of the clam. What is this, and will he ba allright?
His abyssal threads perhaps? Did it come out at the base of where the clam halves are joined? If so (and that's what it is) they are used to anchor the clam to the substrate and from what I understand it's normal to eject existing ones when introduced to a new tank.
sounds like it expelled some zooanthellae packets. They do that when they are acclimating to new light levels. S/b fine as long as your tank/lights provide good environment...
