is there a problem if clams are touching eachother? do they hate it?

Absolutely nothing wrong with it. In fact, wild clams often live in groups and touch several other clams when fully expanded.

Onlt thing to be careful of is to make sure they do not shade each other to the point that the lower clam, could bleach. But they are not like corals, and will not sting each other.
