Got a 2-2.5" clam (not sure if its a maxima or crocea) that kept wedging itself further and further between the main rock-work of my display and a smaller rock encrusted with SPS (clam attached a bit to both). Finally forcing the smaller rock (with SPS) off the main rock causing the bysal (sp?) threads to tear from the clam (where they were attched to the main rock). When I found him, he seemed fine but there was a clear gelatinous mass under him and you can clearly see some threads left up above in the main rock-work. I set him in a new location hoping it won't happen again.
Should I be concerned about the torn threads? Happened last nite.
Had him for a few months now...he's been doing just fine up till now.
