Clams and current

What's the word on current preferences for Tridacnids, specifically T. squamosa? I'd like to keep one in my SPS dominated tank, but since it is primarily SPS, I have a lot of current. Should I work to arrange an area with a consistantly low current, preferably in the sand bed, to keep my clam?

Mine receives enough current to ruffle the edges of the mantle so I wouldn't consider that low flow medium or moderate. Mine is on the sandbed.

I also have a SPS/Clam tank and most all my clams are on the substrate but I have had no problem with current. I use a wavemaker. Turning tank approx. 4650gph , 26 times a hr.
