Clams and water changes

Hi I have 2 clams that are attached to rock. They sit high up in the tank. When I perform a water change the clams will be out of water, long enough to put the new water back in. Should this hurt them. I notice the crocea really stressed out. What do you do when you perform water changes, do you let your clams stay put or do you put them lower when doing a waterchange.

How long is the clam going to be out of the water? If it's for less than a minute or two, it should be okay I would think. Some correct me if I am wrong. Just try to hurry and fill the water level back up over the clam.

They can stay out for a while as long it's warm in the room. They are often exposed in nature.

I kept my gigas out for an hour for treatment (pics and protocol were posted in this froum) and it's fine.

6 of my clams are near the top of my tank and are fully exposed when i do i water change. other than squirting the water they have right in my eye they dont seem to mind much. i just do my water change and take as much time as i need.
