I just got my first 2 clams recently. Unfortunately one didn't make it through the shipping process. Its mantle never extended even to the rim of the shell. The other one, a crocea, is doing fine (knock on wood) for a week now.
Anyway, I know that clams colors change depending where you view them, i.e., from the top or through the glass. My question is does anyone know of a source that has a color translation chart between those two views? I'm more interested in the color of the clams when viewing through the glass (since that is how I view them most often). Pretty much all sites that sell clams only show the top-down view. If you have an open-top tank where you can easily view from the top, then that would be great. But many people tends to have an enclosed canopy on top, making top-down viewing not feasible. I wish the sites that sell clams also show the view through the glass as well as the top view.
Input or opinion guys?
