Clams under T5

I read the article on lighting requirements, and wanted to know if anyone is keeping clams under T5's. I currently have 216w with 4 bulbs.

does your light have individual reflectors on it? If so I use strictly t5 lights and my 23 clams are all thriving.

I have a clam, but it's a new one so I don't have much to add. I do have individual reflectors tho as I have a Teklight. Hopefully, I'll be able to give you an update on how it's doing in a few months.

If you do get a clam, I'd atleast throw in some individual reflectors.

I have T5's with individual reflectors over a 30" deep tank. Anybody know if i can keep clams on the sandbed? I have a squamose already thats really doing well and has gone from 3" to 7" in the last 3 years but he is mid-way up.

Thanks :) I have really had the clam-bug lately but wasnt sure if my 30" deep tank would be too deep to have clams on the sand bed.

I'm using a 4 lamp T5 setup with individual reflectors over my 75 gallon, and I'm keeping two happy Crocea clams. I started them out on the sand, then slowly moved them up. They are in the top third of my tank now, and they are thriving.

I would like to do the opposite. i have a lot of room on my sandbed and thaught that filling up the sand with clams and brains would be cool. I dont want to do it if the clams wont thrive down there.

how about 156 watts of t-5's not individual reflectors....

tank is a 30long so its 18 in deep.

any type of clam i can keep?
