Coralline algae is starting to grow on the back glass. Yay! But bright green algae spots have popped up on the front glass. Up until now, my clean-up crew has done most glass cleaning.
In general, I do not have an algae problem and I use RO/DI water.

This green algae is tough stuff!

What do y'all use to clean the front glass? Sponges, scrapers, etc?

Is there a good one I can use that won't require my hand being in the water? I'm afraid of featherduster worms:cool:

I use a Kent scraper. It is super easy to scrape away the algae with the Kent scraper. You don't have to even put much pressure on the scraper into to remove the algae. However, you must be careful with the blade. The Kent blade bends easily if you drop it.

I have this really neat green brillo-pad like sponge on a long white plastic stick... I'm pretty sure you can get them at a LFS. My boyfriend said it looks like a toilet scrubber though!! hehehe

I also use a Kent scraper, that green alage is hard to get off after awhile.

same here, it's good because the blade is changeable and you can get plastic ones for regular stuff and stainless steel ones for the tougher stuff

I use the kent scraper as well, have the short handle and long handle versions along with multiple plastic and stainless blades. The green coraline always seems to precede a bunch of the purple for me. I'm battling both now in my new tank.

One problem with good tank health is that you become a coraline janitor.

Alright! I'm getting a Kent scraper and a magnetic cleaner. Call me Coralline Janitor Numero Uno.

Thanks for all of the feedback!
