So my lfs said I should get a CUC for my sump I was a little confused but it kinda made sense I guess lol what should I get or what should be best

Not really necessary though assuming you have good flow down there to keep stuff from settling.

Siphoning that crap out is probably your best bet..

If it eats it poops, so your not really gaining anything by putting a CUC down there IMO.

I have some hermits and snails down there.

I am relocating my serpent star down there soon, They will at least dislodge the larger food particles from sitting around.
