cleaning crew

I sure hope when my second package arrives, that my cleaning crew has a big appetite. My rock is starting to get an alge build-up. should I start cleaning the sand or should I hold out so the CC will have some grub when they arrive? Also I have about six urchins in the tank and they have grown almost 4 time the size when they arrived with the rock. Are they good for the tank? Will they sting if I touched them?

I am not a fan of urchins but I think the rule is 1-2 per tank I dont know about that but as far as your tank and Clean up crew I would not vacum the sand but I would clean the glass. How old is your tank and what do you have in there at the moment.....

My tanks is 2 months old and the alge is just starting to show. Sa for now I only have a few H/H about 6 urchins, 4 crabs, 6 hemit and one Mantis shrimp. Im not planning to add anything to the tank untill after the second package arrive and cycles in the tank.

until package 2 arrives you could cut down on the photo-period or pick up some snails to help combat the algae.

I went with a reduced photoperiod myself and did some manual cleaning of the glass.
