Cleaning Salt Creep

The acrylic splash guard on my light fixture has built up a decent amout of salt creep and I want to give it a good cleaning, is there a decent cleaner I can use that is reef safe or is hot water and elbow grease the best option? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I just use water. And be careful, if any chunks fall into the tank and land on livestock it can really spoil their day -- my green acan learned this the hard way. A couple of polyps melted in no time flat.

if you can remove the gaurd, use water to dissolve the salt first, then hit it with vinegar to get the stubborn calcium etching.

if you want to give it a quick wipe while its in place, water is it.
