Hello,

I need your advice with a problem I am facing with my Imperator Angel fish.
I own this fish for about a year. It's an adult Imperator about 25 cm in size.

About a month ago he had Crypto. ("white spots"). I treat the fish with Copper sulphate for 2 weeks and all seems to be just great.
A week after that one of his eyes turn to be clouded.
Few days later the fish started to scratch his head and gills every 2-3 minutes...
I suspected it's Crypto. on his gills and treated again with copper sulphate - this time with no much success... the fish still in the same condition.

The problem is that I can not say for sure what parasite is it (if any)...
And can not say what and how should I treat the fish.

The good news are that from day to day the eye is getting better and clear.

What do you think I should do?
Medical treat the fish? or just let it recover by hi, self?

Regards,

Verti

i just went through this with my angels,do a fresh water dip and see if he has fluks, they will lift off him in the fresh water, they also live on the angels eyes, copper wont kill them, i was about to put my blueface and bluering out of there missery, they could not even see to eat ,i diped them in 2 days they were eating and in a week there eyes were clear, also treat the tank with fluke tabs ,or prazi pro

Thank you very much Dominic.

Few additional question, please:
1) For how long should I dip the Imperator in a fresh water?
2) I see no fluks on the fish skin or eye - before you treat your
angles have you saw fluks on them?
3) I never did fresh water dip before - might it be a dangerous
treatment that may cause damage to the fish?

you cant see them ,but in freshwater they will lift off and almost look like scales comming off, use ro water place it in a bag in your tank to get the same temp, and make the ph the same,as the tank, put the water in a buckett, and watch the fish try to leave him in for 5 minutes,he might lay on his side just place him back up right, they will lift off his eyes also ,and it will not hurt the fish,he will be discoulerd when you put him back in the tank but that is normal ,if flukes come off him you have to treat the whole tank

It's been 4 days since I did the fresh water dip to my Imperator angel fish and...
1) His eye is totaly clear !
2) The fish stopped scratching all over the tank

It works!!!

Unfortunatly, I failed to found any of the medication you have recommanded me to treat all my tank.
I'm from Israel and it just seems like no one import it here...

Are there any "common" medications that might do the work for me as well ?

you had flukes then ,they will come back ,DID YOU SEE ANY COME OFF HIM IN THE DIP,before i say this for sure,if so you have to treat the tank

Unfortunately, I lost the fish after treating it again with freshwater deep :-(

I have some questions about flukes:
1) It seems that flukes are very common mainly on saltwater
angel fish. Why is that?
2) What should be the treatment (the all tank) when one have
reef tank and can not use medications ? Is there "reef safe"
medication\treatment for flukes?
