Clownfish missing part of gill?

I got a clownfish from the store today and he looked fine in the tank. when i got it home and all settled i noticed he is missing part of his gill its like a red hole. its almost as big as his front fin. the fish is pretty small about 1 inch (tank raised) in the tank at the store it was him and another clown the same size. Is it going to get infected and kill the clown?

it should heal with time if your tank parameters are good, quality, etc...just keep an eye on him and try to keep him healthy and eating a variety of foodstuffs...try feeding him spectrum thera+its medicated and really a good food packed with healing medicines too...
