I just use the premium silicone tubing. Supposedly if you don't use CO2 resistant tubing it will become brittle and split (eg. polyethylene or standard airline tubing will fail because of the chemical reaction with CO2) I have been using the green silicone tubing you can buy at any of the pet stores now for almost a year without a problem.
You can still use the other tubing as long as you remember to check and/or replace it regularly.

That's interesting. But wouldn't the amount of loss be affected by back pressure inside the tubing and the length of the run?
I would think that since there is limited backpressure (just from the check valve(s)) and the very short distance from the regulator to the reactor the amount of loss from the tubing would be very low. No idea how to validate that though.
I'd be more concerned over the tubing splitting and either releasing a lot of co2 into the atmosphere or creating a leak from the reactor that could put a lot of water on the floor.
