color changes after light change

I have 3 clams (maxima,deresea and crocea) under VHO and NO flourescents. I am changing to 250 watt MH with 10K Coralvue bulbs. My question is has any made a similar change and what kind of change did you notice in your clams. They currentls look purple, wil this change to more bright colors after the change and should they grow faster then. I have had then for about year and they look great but don't grow much.

I bought my clams from a LFS who had them under PC's. very low light and my tank had 2 400w MH w/ 160w of T5 actinics. The clams started off very purple with not much other color and now they have bright great all over them and they are looking much healthier. I can't say on growth since. I've only had them for about 2 months.
