Color Fade, whats up?

This clam has begun to develop some areas that are begining to lose color. It is about 6" and has been fine for more than a year. The tank is 24" deep with 500 watt MH HQI lighting. Anyone know a cause? Thanks.

There is an excellent section on this "bleachine" in Knopps book on clams. It's a very weird disease with no known origin or cure (from what I can recall off the top of my head) I suggest you look into that book post-haste and read what he says about that.
