Hey everyone,
I bought a colt coral from my LFS about 3 weeks ago. The colt coral was very large so I was able to frag it to get two out of it. Anyways, the original colt coral is doing great, but the frag that I made does not seem happy as it has continuously been "bunched up" and very purple while the original piece is more of a pinkish color and appears to be doing great. I am afraid I may lose the frag as it has not looked good for about 3 weeks now.
All of my water parameters seem fine, however.
Here are my water parameters:
SG: 1.025
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 5
Phosphates: 0
calcium: 420 - 440
magnesium: 1200
kh: 8
My lights are 6 x 54 watt T5 fixture in a 90 gallon reef ready tank.
Do any of you have any thoughts of what I could do to get the coral to open up?
Here are a couple of pictures:
This first picture is of the original piece of coral that is doing great in the tank.
And this is a picture of the "frag."
Do any of you have any suggestions on what I could do?
Thanks!
