is this an ok way to feed feather dusters...? i have herd both that its good and bad, anyone have specific experiences where this has killed their dusters?

lol, not necissary? i had herd from people on here that that was the best way to feed them. guy said he used that method once a week and his duster was doing good

Well...AFAIK they do need to be fed phytoplankton if you want it to live longterm. Most end up dying within a year from starvation.

Dwarfs are easier to take care of than the giants.

What supernerd said, they DO need to be fed phyto (or at least have it regularly in the water column) or it WILL starve to death with in the next year. Your little contraption there is an awesome idea. I just wouldn't do it more than once a week. OR you can just dose the whole tank 3-4 times a week(which is what I do), leaving the skimmer off for about and hour(maybe 2, it's up to you) when dosing.

FWIW,

hmm, yea...i think ill do my little set up about once a week or once every week and a half or so and then still add a bit of phytoplankton to the water for him along with my other corals and filter feeders

FYI This is what Dr. Ron Shimek said about how to feed (and not feed) them:

"Target feeding is a good way to starve these animals. When the food density is too high, they retract and shut down. They need a fair bit of phytoplankton or phytoplankton-sized particulate foods in the water column at all times. You probably should be feeding it as much on a daily basis as you would feed a fish of the same weight (excluding the tube)."
