Conductivity Probe Calibration

I'm having trouble calibrating my Conductivity probe.

1. I select calibration
2. Let probe out of solution and AQIII calibrates dry
3. Probe is put in 53 solution
4. Problem, the probe never reads 53, only 2.4

What am I doing wrong?

Might want to try soaking the probe in vinegar overnight, and then try recalibrating. Let me know what numbers at displayed at the bottom of the screen in both the dry and 53 mS calibration solutions.

When calibrating do you need both High and Low fluid or will the 53 mS be fine?

I'm just monitoring my Salinity levels.

You need 53mS solution only if you just calibrating the high range. The two point calibration is done with a dry probe, and the reference solution.

The probe has been soaking for 24hrs now and it reads 6.3 in vinegar.

Should I now clean it off and place it in the 53mS solution?

Ok, I cleaned the probe off, did the calibration and the probe settled at 49.4 in the 53mS solution.

Does that sound right?

When I placed the probe in my tank after calibration it reads 53.6 but has gone to 53.8 in the past 10 minutes.

Those numbers sound reasonable.
