Can a condy or any other anemone eat to much. I just got a condy and it is eatting like crazy. It ate 2 silversides in the store and 3 more in my tank, and it seems like it wants more to eat. Can they over eat?
Thank for your response. So no feeding for a week ok. Do condies every split, also it is ok to feed them silversides right or is there another food type to feed?
Yes dont feed it for a week, then feed it small amounts, maybe half a silverside, a couple of times a week. Im not sure that condies split in captivity, Ive not heard of it happening. Silversides are good, you can also feed mussels, shrimp, crab etc. I like to feed a variety to my bta.
Cool thank you very much. Ahhh, BTA I love them. Would it be ok to put a BTA in the same tank as the condy, tank is a 55? I am very partial to the RBTA.
Not a good idea in my opinion. One anemone, most likely the newer, will lose out to chemical attack by the other. I think you can get condys in a few different colours as well. Just as query though, what kind of lighting do you have? your little blurb at the bottom says 15w florecent?
oh not any more must change that. I have 130 watts on a 35 hex that the condy is in. I will be changing over to my 55 and putting 175w x's 2 MH over it with 14k bulbs in the next couple weeks though.
Oh cool, that should be great then. Yea just add a few diffreent coloured condys if you want, looks more natural with one species anyway, be careful with corals though.
I dont think condyes split. You will need two to reproduce. As for the feedin I would do what Javeo said feed small pieces. I would recommend every other day to 3 days.
