Cone snail?

I just looked on the glass of my tank an I see a snail I have never seen befor. It is about 1/4 inch long and it is a cone shaped snail. Long skinny spiral shaped shell. It has a purple colored shell and a bright white foot. I know there are white snails this shape that cause problems. Does anyone know what this might be? I would take a pic but my camera is at Sony getting fixed.

Although it is the color of coraline I dont think it is coraline on it?

It is probably more like a Half inch in size.

Maybe you are right? I hope so. It may be a cerinth. Hard to tell though.

whatever it is it sounds liek a cool creature, one you want to see more often, liek i haev a hitchiker snail of some sort that comes out at night, it is pinkish and orange, instead of a shell it has a cap over its back, almost like the old school military helmets, i tried to pull him off the rock but its hard, i guess its becasue he has nowhere t ohide!

Very easy to tell.
Pick it up and squeeze it between your fingers.
After you do that , if you can respond to this post, it was not a cone snail.

I got my camera back so I can try to post a pic but I am at work and my computer at home is out for the week. I will try to get a pic up. It looks like a purple certh?
