So how big of a tank are you going to put in that new home you won? Bet it will look nice next to the 52" TV. :D

Congratulations dude!

Thanks!

Wow I can't even announce my own good news.

I'm actually looking into a used 150 at the moment but I need you guys to help me plan this I want to run a sump into the basement and set up a proper system.

By the way I need a lot if anyone knows of one.:bounce1: :bounce3: :bounce2:

Congrats Matt!!!!!!!!!!!Holy crap

Yes he won a house. So matt do you get to pick the style? Where ya want to plant your house? There are some lots for sale around here.

Here is a link to the contest page and the worst picture of my fiance' that I have ever seen. As most of you have met her you'll probably agree.

http://www.fox23news.com/homefree/

Lori entered us into the contest and we won a new modular house with everything in it.

We are currently looking for a lot. We would like to stay close to Troy and we would really like municipal water.

The house as it is is a 1300 sgft ranch with three bedrooms and 1.5 baths. If we want we can use it as a $50.000 voucher on a bigger house but we're not going to. We have to buy the lot and build the foundation, plumbing and electricity.

Joe any Idea what those lots are going for?

Good job reading into that one...are you stalking me?;)

Would you like me too? j/k
Saw post about skimmers and have some questions that were mentioned there and came across your post. Didn't realize the modulars had basements though.

I'd use the 50,000 towards are new house. In 5 years you'll regret not doing it when you go to sell that one.
Or sell that one off the get go and bank the money towards building a house in the future.
Just my thoughts, but cingrats on the 50,00 win though

I don't know much about modulars, but...
Friends of ours have a modular...it's absoulutely 100% gorgeous! My wife says that Bill Lake Modular Homes are top quality.

My only problem is the size...1300 sq ft is just a bit on the small side [Then again, I have two teenage daughters and NO house is big enough! ]

Did/do you get to check out a model home somewhere?

Im not saving there not gorgeous by any means. A home is your biggest investment in most cases. Modular homes don't seem to follow the trend of increasing in value throughout years they decrease "usually"
50,000 is one hell of a down payment on a new home. Just tossing in some outside view. But either way congrats to Matt

TA, I build custom homes for a living, thats another slant on things for me against modular homes.

I think it will be an awesome starter home and a great way to start off a marriage. Instead of paying rent, you will immediately be earning equity and in a great position if your family grows down the road. All I can say is think LOCATION.

Modular homes are good as long as you make sure you know what you are getting. If you just let them install the cheap stuff you will get what you pay for (or win!) Matt you should see how much it costs for upgrades. I know you can do that and it might be a good idea for investment purposes. You can upgrade simple things like kitchen cabinets and bathroom fixtures. You should be able to upgrade more stuff like the flooring and electrical devices too.
