Controlling an Osmolator via a Aquacontroller controlled power outlet - possible?

I would like to be able to have my Aquacontroller serve as a backup to my Osmolator. If the water level rises high enough to trip a high water level float switch, I would like to have the AC turn off power to the Osmolator. I know the Osmolator already has a backup float valve, but I'm a bit paranoid when dealing with water in my house <grin>.

IF the Aquacontroller turns the Tunze Osmolator off in the case of a high water event, will that cause any problems when it comes back on? Are there any problems with setting it up this way?

As long as the AC would turn the outlet back on once it triggers the unit off it should not be a problem. Dont forget the osmolator already has a 3rd fail safe which is a approx ten min timer which only would pump a max of approx 3 gallons.

If theoretically the osmolator goes out and the ACs float turns it off it would turn back on when the ACs float drops back down and turns the channel back on which then if the osmolator is somehow stuck on then the AC would control it.

Also keep in mind the AC will defeat the 10 minute timer if it shuts it off, the timer will be reset when the unit restarts. In general the Osmolator is fool proof if installed properly. No electronic shut off will stop a siphon, every run away osmolator incident I have ever heard of was the result of a siphon due to improper installation or trying to outthink the way the device was designed to be used. With the optic sensor, float switch and 10 minute timer and a limited volume reservoir it is already layered with redundancies. Just install it right and it will work flawlessly and should it fail it will fail safely.
