Conversion of a wet/dry

I currently have a living colors 200 wet/dry for my 75g. Yes I am running bio balls, but before all the yelling I just want opinions on how to convert to a better set up. I know... Step 1 throw bio balls away. Lol.

The dimensions are 33Lx12Wx27H. I'm not too sure what to put in replacement of the bio balls. What's the best option when doing this?

the dimension of that sump seem appropriate for that size tank, but you need to describe the pics, since they are difficult to understand otherwise. where is the water coming in, to what, then to where, etc....

Bio balls are not recommended in most circumstances but they are not the Apocalypse either....there are certain circumstances where they can work....

Please more details.

Water comes in from the DT on the left, then goes through the baffles which leads to the drip tray, down the bio balls through the block sponge and finally to the section where I have my skimmer/return pump/gfo and carbon pump.

Note: I have no issues with my params at the moment with this set up. I have softies, sps and lps stocked in my tank I'm not sure if my tank is ever going to be dominated by anything specific. I'm going to try and keep it as mixed as possible. For fish I have 2 clowns, yellow tang, flame angel, red scooter blenny, and an engineer goby.
