I caught my eel out tonight, snapped a quick picture and I think it turned out nice.

They are great but remember what they eat and they can and will get out of the tank.

I lost a 18" long one that got through a hole that was no bigger then a quarter.

Others that I know hjave had them long time without them getting out of a tank.

Pat says as long as they have lots of rock to investigate, they might not want to leave the tank. Looking for more rock now. I have a glass top for that tank & eggcrate, too.
 
hey newschool, thats a gorgeous eel! Im so jealous of your tank. I love those zoas and blue shrooms in that pic!!! Do you have any frags of them???? pleeeease??
 
Don't put words in my mouth Jeni!!!! I was lucky and bought the eel from abfleck who had great luck with keeping the eel with an open top. I still had a tight fitting eggcrate cover on the tank for a month before I felt comfortable taking it off.

My pleasure AJ, he's doing great and seems to be happy.

Thanks MrMex! I'll keep an eye out for floater shroom or two for you. The zoas are usually easy for me, take a look at these pics.

Sorry Pat, I didn't realize you had that tank covered. Now I'm worried...

BTW, I don't see the pic in this thread, or your other one. I wonder why?
