Coral banded shrimp dieoff

Unfortunately my cbs died this morning... he had been in the tank for a little over a week and looked absolutely healthy til this morning. All my paramaters look fine (0s across the board), but last night I added a sally lightfoot crab and a tailspot blenny. Are either of those the cause?

Sallies are nasty little things.. its possible but I doubt it in that short ammount of time..(but a sally with blennies and gobies is trouble...) What are your methods of testing? SG, PH, alk?

I acclimated him in the bag for about 45 minutes. Dripping water in for the last half hour. My tank is only about a month old but it has definitely cycled. I have color change tests for everything except alkalinity. Salinity I measure with a hydrometer. Plus I routinely check my parameters at my lfs

A molt is a discarded shell left by crusteceans. The leftover shell appears very similar to the real thing.. but it will be very pale and hollow looking.

To the left is a discarded shell from molting, to the right is the real animal. Notice how pale it is, lack of eyes, etc. compared to the shrimp.

No it definitely wasn't a molt. I don't have a very large tank and it would be impossible for him to have disappeared totally

how large is your tank? how much live rock? my shrimps completely disappear in my 55gal, I have to look really hard sometimes to find them.
