My colors in my LPS have faded(mostly the greens). I was wondering of a chemical that promotes zooxanthallae population? I feel like I should buy some iodine, since I don't dose that. What do you guys think?
Did you have the LPS for a while and they lost color all of a sudden, or did you recently purchase them and the lost color since you had them?
If its the latter it could be a lighting issue
How's your alkalinity?
There is a product called zooxanthallae or something like that, is supposed to bring this specific nutrient back to the coral. Let me find the name and I'll let you know.
That would be awesome
The name of it is PhycoPure Zooxanthellae.
Alex, I have been feeding like a mad man lately and will go broke soon, but the colors are getting dark and rich. Like I discussed with you last weekend and stated hear, there are a few things that cause bleaching.
IMO, most common in this order:
1. Low Nutrients (must feed!!)
2. Alkalinity (must keep this stable or leads to #4)
3. Lighting (as important as alk, however most have good lighting)
4. Stress (Bugs, temp, coral warfare, etc.)
